Madagascar

My impressions

The world evolves, the human condition persists—history repeats itself, and its patterns endure despite changing circumstances. Today, Madagascar stands as a confluence of pioneering navigators and merchants of yesteryear, who once sailed trade routes exchanging goods between Southeast Asia, India, Arabia, and East Africa. While global influences and powers shift, the need for trade remains; only now, instead of galleons, it is supercontainers, and added to the cargo is political and economic dominance. 'Tana,' the capital, with its vibrant architecture, rolling hills, and bustling markets, embodies these truths—both past and present. A weekend in Tana and a week exploring the island is enough to experience the repetitions of history, to see the cargo old and new.
